Patient FAQs
+ How long will it take to find a flight for me?
We begin working on flight requests 7 to 10 business days prior to travel, as we receive corporate flight schedules within that timeframe. On occasion, we may find a flight immediately, but it varies depending on where you live and where you're going. There is the possibility we may not find a flight, which is why our patients need to have a commercial reservation as a back up plan.
+ How will I know someone is working on my trip?
Because corporate flight schedules may change, we actively begin matching patient requests 7 to 10 business days prior to travel. At that time, you will be given a status update on your request.
+ Can a friend or family member fly with me?
If a second seat is available, a patient may bring one adult companion, and children under the age of 21 may bring two adults. Corporate participants are accustomed to receiving requests for at least two seats, but if the patient is a child, Corporate Angel Network can inquire about the availability of three seats.
+ Can you fly friends or family members to visit me?
Unfortunately, no. Corporate Angel Network flights are arranged for cancer patients and bone marrow/stem cell donors or recipients. Only a friend or family member accompanying a patient can be transported.
+ How do I get from the airport to the hospital or hotel?
Ground transportation arrangements are made from the patient side. We can provide information about car services, if needed.
+ Who can help me with lodging?
Social workers at the hospital where you will be receiving treatment are a great resource for supplementary services. Often, lodging facilities close to hospitals provide a discount to visiting patients.
